About Us
The New York State Health Accountability Foundation is a public-private partnership dedicated to promoting transparency in the health care system and providing employers and consumers with reliable information on health care pricing and quality. Every year we publish a Health Care Report Card reviewing the quality and cost of care delivered to New Yorkers and health care consumers in surrounding states.
Founded in 1998, the Health Accountability Foundation
- publishes standardized performance data on health plans, hospitals, nursing homes and physicians
- promotes value-based health care purchasing by encouraging payers and others to reward quality and efficiency
- helps providers improve by benchmarking their performance against others and providing best practices information
- helps patients make informed choices about their care.
